Verna Robbs (Knauft) and her twin brother Vern were born April 7 1931
in the Hanna Hospital. She passed away in the Hanna Hospital Feb. 18 2016 at the age of 84, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Verna grew up on the family farm 5 miles south of Hanna, and
attended the Red Rose school, a mile south of the farm, up to grade
9. She moved to Hanna and completed her high school and then she enrolled in Commercial school in Hanna. When she finished Commercial School Verna was hired as a secretary for the Town of Hanna. In 1952 she married Lorne Robbs.
After working for the town office for 29 years Verna retired and moved to Strathmore, where she worked for Bill Southern for the next 15 years.
She later moved back to Hanna to enjoy her retirement.
Verna was predeceased by her father George(Judd) Knauft, her
mother Christina(Tina) Knauft (Burgemeister) sister Mary Engel,
brothers Billy, Robert, twin brother Vern and brother Larry she is also
predeceased by sister in law Milly Miller, and 2 brothers in law
Carl Engel and Ken Wells.
She leaves to mourn her passing her sister Marjorie and sisters in law Gloria, Freda, Allison, Amber, Aunt Terry Fechner,as well as numerous neices and nephews, and her 2 special friends Kevin and Mike whom she treated like sons.
Funeral Services were held at the United Church in Hanna on Feb. 23, 2016 .
