Obituary for Raymond John Hansen

Raymond John Hansen
RAYMOND JOHN HANSEN
JULY 20, 1943 – DECEMBER 13, 2015
Mr. Raymond Hansen passed away on December 13, 2015 at the age of 72 years. Raymond was born in Innisfail, Alberta to Anita and Magnus Hansen and attended Markerville school and then on to Spruce View. He then attended the Olds College where he studied agriculture. Once he finished his schooling he returned back to the farm where he loved his life of farming and watching his crops grow. Raymond resided on the family farm the rest of his life.
Raymond had many passions in his life besides farming, he was a member of the Sylvan Lake Memorial Presbyterian Church and contributed to Camp Kannawin working on various buildings through the camp. For many years, Raymond would be found at Markerville making and cleaning ice for the families to skate and carried the role as ice maker as he pebbled the natural curling ice, something that Markerville was famous for. Oh the good old stories I’m sure he could tell. He also was very supportive of the Creamery and the Fensala Hall.
Raymond is survived by one brother Gary of Toronto and one Aunt, Betty Peters and numerous cousins and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at the Sylvan Lake Memorial Presbyterian Church (5200 48 St. Sylvan Lake) on January 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
Memorial tributes may be made to the Sylvan Lake Presbyterian Church. Heartland Funeral Services Ltd., Innisfail entrusted with arrangements. Phone: 403-227-0006. www.heartlandfuneralservices.com
