The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Phyllis McDonald can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

My Favorite Teacher

I attended Meadowlands School near Hanna where Phyllis Morton was our teacher. I think it was about the mid 1940's. Like myself, all her students, adored Phyllis for her friendly, helpful demeanor. The last time I had seen her was at the Hanna 75th reunion when she told me that she had married a McDonald, was living on a farm in the Hand Hills and that Lanny was her son. This nearly blew me away as I had no idea about her history after she was at Meadowlands. I often wish that more photo's had been taken while I attended grade school at Meadowlands. Photo's from that time seem to be a rare commodity. I was however pleased to recognize Phyllis's photo on her obituary. May this wonderful person rest in peace. To the Family of Phyllis, please accept my heartfelt condolences. Otto Litke, West Kelowna BC
