Ahner, Otto
February 10, 1938 – January 27, 2016
Otto Ahner passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the Innisfail Hospital on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the age of 77 years. Otto was born in Neufall, Romania and immigrated to Canada from Germany in 1954. Otto was a hard worker and provider for his family and his list of many successful endeavors included dairy farming west of Eckville and business owner of West Side Car Wash, Olds. He was known for his infectious smile, generosity, his love of fishing and his compassion for his animals. Otto leaves behind his wife Rene Ahner; son Gord (Michelle) Ahner; daughter Elisa (Roger) Jackson; six grandchildren, Jacob (Annette) Ahner, Christeana (Davie) Pack, Amanda Ahner (Alan) , Natasha Ahner, Abby Jackson, Gradyn Jackson; as well as great grand-children; one sibling Karl (Doris) Ahner. Otto was predeceased by his son Eric, and brothers Johann, Edward, and Emil. He will be forever missed, remembered and loved by all who knew him. Celebration of Life was held on Friday February 5, 2016 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #105, Olds. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation.
