OBITUARY- Duff Norman 1957-2015

On August 16, at the age of 58, Norman Alexander Duff, of Calgary, passed away from cancer. Norm was born in the U of A Hospital in Edmonton on March 15, 1957. He was predeceased by his father, Andrew Duff and is survived by his loving mother, Marjorie Duff (nee Cruickshank of Ranfurly, Alberta); his three loving children, Kyle Duff, Caleigh (Jesse) Byers and Christina Duff and their mother, Kathy (Steve) Clark; his partner, Kathryn Martin and her children Conan and Eden; his aunt, May Cruickshank; his sister Edie (Gary) Liddell and their children Graham and Heather; and numerous other nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Norm will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Norm spent most of his childhood in Hanna where he was very involved in school activities, various sports and church. He earned his Civil Engineering Degree from the University of Alberta where he also sang tenor in Mixed Chorus.

He was a loving and passionate man with a wonderful sense of humour. Norm appreciated sports of all kinds, music, dancing, camping, quadding and socializing, and was most happy when he could enjoy these with his children. He was extremely proud of their many accomplishments. Norm loved his family, friends and dogs. He loved life and lived it fully.

Norm's family would like to acknowledge and give special thanks to Dr. Easaw, his team, the hospital staff, and the Tom Baker Cancer Centre for their compassionate care given during his time there.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday August 22, 2:00 P.M. at the First United Church, Hanna, Alberta (808 – Centre Street). Norm will be laid to rest in the Hanna Cemetery following the Service.

In lieu of flowers, Norm asked that any memorial donations be made to either The Rainbow Society of Alberta (6604, 82nd Ave N.W. Edmonton, Alberta T6B 0E7), The Alberta Cancer Foundation (710- 10123- 99 St. Edmonton, Alberta T5J 9Z9) or S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance.
