Obituary for Michael Ray Anderson

Michael Ray Anderson
Michael Anderson

Michael Ray Anderson passed away suddenly on June 24th, 2015, at the age of 45. Michael was born February 9th, 1970 in Olds, Alberta. He was predeceased by his father Ray; his mother Marjorie and his nephew Alexander . He is lovingly remembered by his wife Shauna, his two children Raymond and Stephanie, as well as his brother Barry (Kelly); sisters Rhonda, Deb (Jim Porter) and Jenny (Tony). He is also fondly remembered as Uncle Mike to numerous nieces and nephews. Michael was raised in Carstairs, where he attended and graduated Hugh Southerland High School, before meeting Shauna. They met through Michael’s friend Dave, and in 1993 the two were engaged. By October 1994, they were happily married. Their first child, Raymond, was born in January 1994. Their daughter Stephanie followed in July 1995. Michael was an avid collector of comic books and movies. He shared this passion with his son, along with their mutual enjoyment of all things wrestling. He was a proud father, who never missed an opportunity to cheer on his children in all of their endeavors. Shauna and her family extend their deepest thanks to all of the first responders who went above and beyond their duties during this time of need. We offer a special thanks to Rhonda from the Crises Center, for providing professional and calming counsel to our family. Michael was laid to rest on June 30th, in Olds Alberta, minutes from his children yet forever in their hearts.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Michaels name to the Horizon School, in honour of all the hard work and care that they provided to his family. Heartland Funeral Services Ltd., Olds entrusted with arrangements.

Our memories build a special bridge
When loved ones have to part
To help us feel we’re with them still
And soothe a grieving heart.
They span the years and warm our lives
Preserving ties that bind
Our memories build a special bridge
And bring us peace of mind.
