STROHSCHEIN
Marlaine Virginia Strohschein (nee Hann) of Olds, Alberta passed from the loving arms of her family into the arms of her Heavenly Father after a brief battle with cancer on December 17, 2013. She was born September 27, 1953 in Lethbridge, Alberta to Herman and Lois Hann. Marlaine grew up in Nobleford, Alberta where she took her grade schooling. She briefly attended Cornwallis for Canadian Military Training. Licensed Practical Nurse training followed in Calgary and she subsequently worked as an LPN in Claresholm, Picture Butte, Coaldale and Red Deer. She also worked at Olds Koinonia Christian School as a librarian and an Educational Assistant. In 1989, Marlaine married Emrie Strohschein from Olds. They had two children; Jeff and Kathrin. Marlaine enjoyed teaching Sunday School, and was involved in Bible Studies and many other areas of service in her church. Marlaine accepted Jesus into her life in her early twenties as she attended a Christian rally with her mother. Her greatest joy was to see her children walk with the Lord. Marlaine was predeceased by her parents, Herman and Lois Hann. She is survived by her loving husband, Emrie and their children Jeff and Kathrin; brothers Mac and his wife Colleen and their children Derek and Lindsay; Alex and his wife Trudy and their children Heidi, Karen and Leisel; Fred and his wife Jackie and their children Matt and Samantha; sisters Martha and her husband Monty and their children Scott, Keith and John; and Lorna and her husband Jeff as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, in-laws and friends. A Celebration of Life was held on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church, Olds with Pastor Brent Reilly officiating. A private interment followed at the Wimborne Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pregnancy Care Center, Olds or to Compassion Canada.
