Obituary for Evelyn Grace Braun
Evelyn Grace Braun (Nowotny) passed away August 15, 2015 peacefully in Hanna, AB at the age of 71 years after a short difficult battle with cancer.
Eve was born in Vancouver B.C November 10, 1943 and moved to Alberta at a young age to be raised in Barons, AB. She later raised her family in Taber and Fort Macleod before moving to Hanna in 1979 where she lived until her passing.
Eve did not like to travel but spending hours upon hours on the phone with family and friends was her favourite pastime.Eve loved to cook for others and will be especially remembered for her homemade bread. She loved puttering with her plants and flowers often saying, “it’s nice they don’t talk back”.
Eve is survived by her children: Gale Dyck of Coaldale, AB; Corinne (James) Conner of Fort Macleod, AB; Cory (Shawnah Petersen) Braun of Lethbridge, AB; Granny to her 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren who she adored with all her heart: Allison Kenney (Ashlynn, Hayden, Chloe and Reese); Sarah
(Andrew Berndt) Dyck; Bradley Tschritter; Randi Braun; Jennifer (Erik) Mything (Kristian, Ashlyn, Ethan, Mason and Raelyn); Jaymie (Blaine) Lippa (Easton and Harper); Mark (Taylor Noga) Conner; Kristie Braun (Aura); Jessica Braun (Cydney and Karsyn) and Grant (Melissa) Braun (Jayden).
She is also survived by her sisters Lorraine Johnson and Wilda Miller; sister-in-law Doris Wain and numerous nieces and nephews and very special friends that became part of our family Dean, Michelle, Cole & Dylan Viste and Ray & Judy Sieppert.
Eve was predeceased by her parents Earl and Florence Nowotny, son Mark, sister Shirley Ryden and brother Lawrence Wain.
At Evelyn’s request there will be no funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be planned in both Hanna and Lethbridge, details will be communicated at a later time. In Lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Hanna Health Care Centre Palliative Care Beds.
