Emma Mix
1919 – 2016

Emma Mix passed away in Hanna, Alberta, on March 15, 2016, at the age of 97 years.
Emma (Pahl) Mix began her journey through life February 18, 1919, Colaceni, Romania, to parents Fredrick and Justina Pahl. In 1927, at the age of eight, Emma migrated with her family to Canada. First landing in Halifax, but settling on the farm near Scapa where Emma spent her youth.
On October 1, 1939 she married Otto Mix and they began their lives together on a farm in the Sullivan Lake district. In 1944 they moved to their home north of Hanna, where they resided until retiring to Hanna in 1966.
Emma loved to garden, she maintained a bountiful vegetable garden, and grew fruit trees, but her passion was her endless flower beds. She always had extras that she willingly shared with friends, neighbours, or anyone whom asked.
After Otto passed away in 1995, she continued on enjoying her beloved gardens until she settled in the Seniors Lodge in 2007.
Emma will be lovingly remembered by her son, Alvin (Lorna) Mix; daughter Arlene (Blake) Stillings; Five grandchildren: Wayne (Jalaigna) Mix, Shelley (Larry) Conway, Ellamae (Tom) Allen, Craig (Roxanne) Stillings, Robert (Kalhanie) Stillings; Eleven great grandchildren: RobbiLynn, Dustin, Blaine, Nicolas, Matthew, Kendall, Katelyn, Morgan, Blake, Rachel, Lauren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy path.”
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday March 23, 2016, at 2 p.m., at the Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, Hanna, Alberta. A private family interment took place prior to the service at the Hanna Cemetery.
