Aarsby, Edith May (nee Wright)
July 11, 1920 - July 3, 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of Edith Aarsby announces her passing on Thursday July 3, 2014. Edith is survived by her loving daughters, Donna and Brenda; her cherished granddaughters, Julie (Cam), Nicole and Danielle; and her precious great grandson, Erik. Edith was predeceased by the love of her life, Orville; her beloved grandson, Jason; sister Helen and brothers Allen, Ken and Gordon.
Edith was born and raised in Carstairs where she was an active member of the community. She was the bookkeeper at the Carstairs Creamery for many years where she met and married Orville. Edith was also a long time member of the IODE and United Church Women’s groups where she made quilts for the Sheriff King Society and chili for the Homeless Shelter. Whenever help was needed, Edith was always there to volunteer her time. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Aspen Ridge Lodge for the wonderful care and compassion they showed Edith. Their thoughtfulness is very much appreciated. Edith will be lovingly remembered by family and friends for whom she always had a smile. A Celebration of Edith’s life will be held on Wednesday July 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Carstairs United Church with Pastor Ian Mason officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made directly to S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance or Alberta Children’s Hospital.
