Obituary for Betty Howard

Mrs. Elizabeth (Betty) Howard of Innisfail passed away on February 20, 2014 at the age of 99 years. Betty was born in Cluny, AB on November 7, 1914. In 1918, the Taylor family moved to the Innisfail area. Betty married Edward Howard on December 8, 1939. They farmed east of Innisfail till Ed’s passing in 1987. Betty moved to Innisfail in 1988. She enjoyed travelling and took many worldwide trips with her sister in law Cicely, Marion Walker and Greta Hargreaves. Betty belonged to the Women’s Institute, Legion Auxiliary and was a charter member of the Women Of The Moose.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Norma (Tex) of Edmonton, Vera (Grant) of Innisfail and Larry (Elfie) of Innisfail; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered by brother in law Henry Howard and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Edward, granddaughter Anne Yerex, son in law Alvin Darrah, her siblings, Fred, Sam, Tom, Jane and their spouses.
A memorial tea will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Innisfail on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 1:00pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Innisfail Hospital Palliative Care or to the Alberta Cancer Foundation. Heartland Funeral Services, Ltd., Innisfail entrusted with arrangements.
