OBITUARY
Betty Lou (Walker) Campbell
Surrounded by her family, Betty Campbell passed away peacefully on December 4th, 2013 at the Olds Hospital and Care Centre at the age of 83 years. Betty was born September 14, 1930 in Ferndale, Michigan. She was a graduate of Anderson University with a double major in Music Theory and Piano. She taught at Alberta Bible Institute (later Gardner College) and at Drayton Valley, Alberta. Music was a lifelong passion for Betty and she taught many students throughout her life. Betty was a choir leader and pianist for the Church.
She was a minister’s wife in Schuler, AB; Swift Current, SK; Grand Bend, ON; London, ON; and Welland, ON. In 1993 she and her husband, Reverend John Campbell, returned to Camrose Alberta where John served the Church of God in Western Canada. They retired to Olds in 2009. Betty is survived by her loving husband, John, daughter Laura, son Douglas (Caroline) and a number of extended family members. She is predeceased by an infant son, her brother Lloyd Walker, parents Louie & Lily Walker, and John’s parents Douglas and Gladys Campbell. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 5005 53rd Avenue, Olds on December 9th at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: Church of God in Western Canada (Leadership Development Fund) or The Kidney Foundation of Canada.
