Obituary for Ardeth Lorraine Lloyd

LLOYD

Ardeth "Ardy" Lorraine Lloyd (nee Lounsbury) passed away peacefully at the Olds Hospital, October 5, 2015 at the age of 71 after a courageous battle with cancer. Ardy was born in Treherne, Manitoba and lived in many places throughout her life from Winnipeg, Whitehorse to Northern B.C. While in Whitehorse, she volunteered as a foster mother for newborn babies. She came to southern Alberta and spent time in Redcliff, Medicine Hat and then floated around central Alberta from Three Hills to west of Cochrane until settling the last 19 years in the Bowden area. In 1986, Ardy wed Dennis Lloyd & they spent their 29 years together in the country where they both belonged, amongst their many, many animals. Working at Redcliff Greenhouse, Griffin Valley Ranch and finally at B&M Home Hardware for almost 16 years made her a well known staple in the community as well as her volunteering in which she found such joy. Ardy cherished spending time with her family, close friends and all of her animals. Ardy is survived by her patient and loving husband Dennis; her mother Annettie; sons Darrell & Billy; daughter Angel "Noel" (Eric); sisters Joyce and Bev; three brothers Dennis, Larry (Caroline) & Kevin (Teresa); eight beloved grandchildren, Brandi-Lyn, Melissa, Kellie, Amber, Taren, Erin, Stephen & Cameron; five great grandchildren all of whom brought laughter to her life. She was predeceased by her brother Dave Lounsbury. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at the Eagle Hill Memorial Community Hall with Tom King officiating.
