Obituary for Amelia "Molly" Davidson (Oelke)

Amelia "Molly"  Davidson (Oelke)
Amelia (Molly) was born November 28, 1908 at Mayton, Alberta. She was the seventh of twelve children, born to David and Catherine Oelke in the family’s two bedroom sod house. Later she moved to the town of Torrington, which was built on the Oelke family’s land. She attended Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills along with Delbert Davidson. Together they graduated and were married in 1934. Four daughters resulted from this union. Delbert and Molly ministered with CSSM in the Peace River District; she served as a pastor’s wife west of Wetaskiwin and later, on Prairie’s staff over thirty years. Though she experienced poor health over their seventy-two years of marriage, Delbert lovingly cared for her till his passing in 2006. At one hundred and five years of age, she out lived all of her siblings. Left to morn her passing are her daughters, Dorothy (Bryon) Sparling, Ruby Sykes, Bernice LaBelle, thirteen grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Those who predeceased her are her parents, siblings, husband Delbert, daughter Darlene Rigaudell, one great grandchild, and son-in-law Tom Sykes. Funeral services were held on Monday June 9, 2014 at Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, Three Hills. Interment was held in the Three Hills Cemetery.
