Obituary

Agnes Ann Skaluba was born on March 13, 1931 to Elizabeth and George Neumann in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. Grandma had ten siblings and often shared memories of growing up in a large family.
She graduated with her nursing degree in Winnipeg and took great pride in her ability to help others with her nursing skills.
After graduation Agnes married Victor Skaluba and together they raised three children, Barbara, Neil, and Gordon. Much of their married life was spent in Calgary and Olds.
In addition to her children, she leaves to mourn her grandchildren Kimberly and her husband Blaine, Me and my wife Amanda, her six great-grandchildren, Jace, Alexis, Jacob, Blake, Kaleb, and Piper, one brother and one sister, and numerous nieces & nephews.
Grandma enjoyed spending winters in Apache Junction Arizona. She also enjoying travelling abroad and went to Mexico, Africa, Hong Kong and Hawaii. In 1990 we took a family holiday to Hawaii, I have special memories of Grandma teaching me how to play tennis and do the hula. I’ve had the opportunity to return to Hawaii twice since then and I look forward to a time that I can take my family on a Hawaiian vacation as well.
Grandma loved to garden, make greeting cards, and spend time with family ,friends and her special friend, Bill Evans. Another favorite pass time was playing cards. Neil remembers that when she played Caroline Canasta, often times she lagged a bit behind on the scorecard but always caught up at the end of the game and won. She would beam with a triumphant smile on her face every time!
Grandma had a strong relationship with God and enjoyed her time in Worship and Prayer. I truly appreciated her faith and what it meant to her.
Agnes valued all her relationships and tried to bring some joy to everyone she met. She will be missed by many people and fond memories of her will always be in our hearts.

It is with sadness that I heard of Agnes’s passing. She was a good, loyal friend for many years and I enjoyed visiting with her. She was a good , knowledgeable nurse! She also enjoyed a good game of bridge! Sorry that I was not confirmed on the funeral date. I will miss her.
