The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Dennis Davies can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great grandfather Dennis Roy Davies at the age of 77 years in at the Rosefield Care Centre, Innisfail. Dennis was born in 1937 and lived on the family farm near Cochrane where he met Evelyn and moved to Fort Nelson, BC. to run his own water truck. Dennis and Evelyn were married December 9, 1959 and had their first son Lorrie in 1961. They returned to Cochrane where Dennis was hired by Shell Oil in 1964. They had 2 more children, Colin & Debby. Dennis was transferred to Sundre in 1981, then promoted to start up the Shell Manyberries Plant near Medicine Hat in 1987. While there, Dennis had his first stroke and took an early retirement in 1988. Dennis and Evelyn moved back to Sundre to spend their retirement years in a town they LOVED. Dennis will be lovingly remembered by his son, Colin Davies of Sundre and daughter Debby (Brent) Peppler also of Sundre; 6 grandchildren Jesse Davies of Red Deer, Robin (Jeff) Rasmussen of Olds, Ashley Davies (Ryan Walker) of Cochrane, Paula Myette of Sundre and Tanner & Tory Peppler of Sundre;1 great-grandson Declan Rasmussen; sisters Valerie (Art) Howes of Brooks and Marilyn (Jack) Fodor of Calgary; brothers Jim Davies of Bottrel and Bill (Phylis) Davies of Cochrane. Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Mary; his loving wife of 47 years Evelyn; son Lorrie; brothers Jerry and Bob. At Dennis’ request, there will be no service. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation.
