HAGER, Gerrigje (Gerry)
Passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the age of 90 years. Gerry was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Lenard in 1993. She was born in Epe, Gelderland in the Netherlands on August 5, 1924. Gerry met and married Lenard during the war and came to Canada as a War Bride in 1946. She was an active member of the War Brides Association of Alberta, The Trochu Senior’s Choir, Ladies Hospital Auxiliary, and The Springbank Seniors Group. Gerry leaves behind daughter Debbie(Richard) Pitman; son Karl Hager; son Berry (Carolyn) Hager; grandchildren Michael (Sandra) Hager, Dayle (Josh) Vienneau, Melissa (Darby) Ray, Diana Pitman (Mike Sobieraj), and great grandchildren Marquise, Mathew, Carrington, Cadence, Madison, Bennett, and Avery. A Memorial Service will be held in Calgary on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 1 PM at Abundant Life Church, 3325 – 49 Str. S.W. Donations can be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation in care of Gerry Hager’s name.
