JEAN TAYLOR
1939 – 2016
Mrs. Jean Taylor of Spruce View passed away peacefully at the Innisfail Health Care Centre on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the age of 76 years. Jean was born in Donaghadde, Northern Ireland where she met the love of her life Bill Taylor. Bill immigrated to Canada in 1959 and returned home and married Jean in 1960 on her 21st birthday. In March of 1966 they came to Dickson, Alberta, to stay. A month later she began to work in the Meat Locker at Dickson and continued until God blessed them with Mandy’s arrival in 1966. In later years Jean worked at the Spruce View Post Office, the Vet Clinic and the Video Store. Her last job was at the Spruce View School where she kept everything in ship shape and was able to share her love of being with children. Jean was an exceptional seamstress and knitter, using her skillful hands to create beautiful clothes for her family, friends and those in need. Bill and Jean worked hard for many years together building their home and life together. Jean leaves behind her loving husband of 55 years Bill, and her daughter Mandy (Kelly) Doll, and their daughters Jenna and Shelby Doll who were the lights of her life. She is also survived by her sister Bridie, her brother Bernard (Phyllis) and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean’s fun, fiery personality attracted her many friends and her kindness and personality kept them. A Funeral Service will be held at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Dickson, Alberta on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 2:00pm.
