Obituary for Elda Eileen Jans

Elda Eileen Jans

“Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
Reinhold Niebuhr
Elda Eileen Jans (Walker)
Elda Jans of Olds passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family on October 20, 2016 at the age of 82 years. She was born July 15, 1934 in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
Words cannot express our deep sense of loss. She was everything that’s good in life. Her spirit will forever live in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Elda loved many things in her life; horses, cattle, birds, crafts, music, cooking dinners for her family the company of good friends and loved to dance. Mom had a kind heart. She was very close to her brother Merle; they were the best of buddies. Her deepest love was for her grandchildren, children and husband. She cherished every moment with them and they with her. We have been truly blessed to be a part of Mom/Gramma’s life. Her love was deep and undying. The past few years had not been easy for Mom, but she never complained and accepted things as they were. She always worried about everyone else before herself. Elda is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ed; two sons Keith and Ken (Martha); grandchildren Kyle & Shelby and Evan & Rachelle; one brother Lyle. She was predeceased by her parents Vern and Winnifred Walker and brother Merle all of Medicine Hat, Alberta. A Private service and interment were held on Saturday October 22, 2016 at the Olds Cemetery. Heartland Funeral Services Ltd., Olds entrusted with arrangements. 406-507-8610 www.heartlandfuneralservices.com
