Christmas Decorations et al

Eileen chose decorations for their tree that would make Christmas traditions for her children. I wonder how many decorations hold a special place in her extended families. Eileen asked me to make bacon and tomato sandwiches for the boys one summer day when I was looking after them. We never had this amazing menu item at home. I looked through her recipes, but I must have been the only person who needed a recipe. I did not know whether the tomatoes were cooked or raw and how you cooked them. Luckily, my Mom was a short distance away. I called Mom and charged the call. The operator misheard my name and said that there was a collect call fron Harry Hoover. Mom said she knew no one of that name. When I groaned, an exaggerated "Mom" she took the call and solved my dilemma. These sandwiches are a favourite of mine to this day. Eileen and Bob were great neighbors and brought sunshine and laughter with them always. She hired me to look after their boys when I was totally green around the gills. I learned so much from her and always have appreciated the role model she was. Goodbye my friend. We shall miss you always.
