ABRAM BROWN
1929 - 2016

Abram Brown was born July 24, 1929 in Slavograd, Russia to Abram and Anna Brown
Abram immigrated to Canada in 1929 and spent his childhood in Dundurn, Saskatchewan. At age seventeen he joined the Canadian Army as a Mechanic. He married Mabel Penner in 1949 at the age of twenty-two. Shortly thereafter he was off to serve in the Korean War. He retuned to Canada and transferred into the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Heavy Radar Technician. His military career spanned over thirty-three years including moves to Edmonton, Whitehorse, Cold Lake before finishing off his career in Penhold.
Abram retired to the Innisfail area where he and family worked on their acreage, affectionately referred to as the “8 B Ranch”
Abram is survived by his six children Les (Judy) Brown, Donna (Jim Bouck), Lois Orton,
Robert (Rae) Brown, Bill Brown, and Cynthia (Doug) Antonovitch, ten grandchildren,
six great-grandchildren, a sister Anne and brother John Brown.
Abram was predeceased by Mabel, his loving wife of 52 years, his parents and three
Sisters Agnes, Katherine and Lillian
A Celebration of Abram’s life will be held at St. Marks Anglican Church, Innisfail on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Memorial tributes may be made to the Korean War Veterans.
