Obituary for Carol Marie Lynch

LYNCH
Carol Marie (Goddard) Lynch , born September 24, 1943 passed away Sunday July 24,2016 in the Olds Hospital after a fearless battle with cancer with her family at her side. Carol was born in Didsbury, the eldest child of Ches and Rhoda Goddard and the eldest grandchild of Floyd and Austa Goddard. She soon became a ray of sunshine to her aunts and uncles and there was a special bond thereafter with Myrl, Earl, Hazel and Opal. Raised on a farm just west of Olds, Carol was an avid curler, and cheerleader through high school. She loved to dance and attend school functions. Carol worked in Olds after graduation but soon sought the big city where she met and married a handsome Irishman named Tom. Tom and Carol moved to Edmonton where they were blessed with two children before returning to Olds to live. Carol went to work for the local Chev Olds dealership (Spicer’s/Duffin’s/Hildebrandt’s), as a bookkeeper and remained there for over thirty years. There she gained the respect and friendships of her many co-workers. Always a family first woman, who cherished the history of her family, she will be missed greatly. Carol was a loving and proud mother to her children Tracey Lynch(Tony Stewart); Sean (Jennifer) Lynch; she was a loving and proud “Mammo” to her granddaughters Jordyn, Kelsey, Morgan, Madison; also left to mourn her loss and celebrate her life is; sister, Marilynn Barton and families; brother Terry (Heather) Goddard and families; Uncle Myrl (Joan) Goddard; as well as numerous cousins and friends. Waiting for her in heaven is her husband Tom Lynch, parents Ches and Rhoda Goddard and many of her much loved family. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to “Dr. O” and the palliative care staff at the Olds Hospital. A private family interment was held at the Olds Cemetery. A Come & Go Celebration will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Olds & District Evergreen Centre. In lieu of flowers please send a memorial donation to the Olds Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
