The family of Lola Heggen sadly announce her sudden passing on Sat. May 7, 2016.
Lola was born in Federal, Alberta to George & Georgette Easton on June 11, 1922, the second oldest of the family of six siblings. She grew up on a farm & attended school in the Coronation area. Lola worked at the Lacombe Hotel in Lacombe Alberta, before she married Henry Heggen on Nov 24, 1943. Together they made their home on a farm in the Spondin area, & raised a family of two girls, Mavis & Anola. Lola & Henry parted ways & Lola moved to Hanna where she worked at several places, including Rawlusyk’s Bakery & the Acadia Lodge. After retiring, Lola bought the house of her dreams, which was her pride & joy. Gardening , flowers and quilting were a pastime that gave her great pleasure.
Failing health forced Lola to sell her house & she moved to the Acadia Lodge and finally to the Hanna Long Term Care Facility where she resided until her passing.
Lola shared the last 48 years of her life with a special friend & partner, Alois Csanits. Together they enjoyed numerous trips throughout Alberta, B.C. & The United States.
Lola is survived by her two daughters: Mavis (Garry) Hamilton and Anola (Butch) Moench; four grandchildren: Steven (Roxann) Hamilton, Darcy Hamilton, Brian Moench and Bonnie (Jovan) Deadlock; six great grandchildren; three sisters: Ellen Colina, Loreen Coughlan, Joyce Petterson and one brother Jack (Joan) Easton; plus several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by Mother and Father: George and Georgette Easton; Sister: Erma Hogg and Niece: Romona Campbell.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hanna Hospital Ladies Auxiliary Box 20 Hanna, Alberta T0J1P0 or to a charity of donor’s choice.
