Obituary for Wayne Franklin Sigurdson

Mr. Wayne Franklin Sigurdson of Sylvan Lake, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at the age of 69 years. Wayne was born in Red Deer, Alberta and was raised on the farm, north of Markerville until he started working in various trades where he settled on plumbing with Roz Con Construction. The company took him all over Central Alberta, where he did various plumbing jobs and operated a backhoe. He moved to Lloydminster, Alberta where he later joined the Local Union 179 as a pipefitter, he spent his time working in Northern Alberta and Saskatchewan. After retiring, he moved back to the farm where he kept busy in the shop, fixing and helping in the field when he could. Wayne was always ready to lend a hand to anyone that needed it and always had a smile on his face. His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, and camping (this is where he had the most fun). He had many jobs throughout his life and made many friends along the way. Waynes amazing smile and care free nature will be missed by all. He will be lovingly remembered by his father, Frank Sigurdson, his daughter, Marcia (Mike) Wallace of Costa Rica, his grandsons, Jordan Szara of Edmonton, Alberta, Jay Wallace of Toronto, Ontario, and Damian Wallace of Costa Rica. Wayne will also be deeply missed by his brothers, Jim (Debra) Sigurdson of Sylvan Lake, Alberta, Dale (Gail) Sigurdson of Markerville, Alberta, Barry (RuthAnn) Sigurdson of Sylvan Lake, Alberta, Rodney (Marg) Sigurdson of Edmonton, Alberta and his sister, Brenda (Wesley) Flake of Sylvan Lake, Alberta.
