Obituary for Sharon Diane Maxwell (Mann)
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sharon Diane Maxwell (nee Mann) announce her passing on July 9, 2023 at the age of 74 years.
Sharon was born in Grenfell, Saskatchewan. She was five years of age, when she and sister Shirley clutched their new crayons and coloring books as they boarded a train to Edmonton, where Sharon spent the remainder of her childhood and early adult years. It was at youth group from Redeemer Lutheran Church, Sharon met and eventually married her love and soul mate, David Maxwell. The young couple moved to Westlock in 1968. There, Sharon worked for the County for many years. One of her tasks was serving as a recorder in the legal courts of Westlock. In 2009 they relocated to Innisfail, where Sharon spent the remainder of her life. Sharon was an excellent homemaker and cook. She was known for her cabbage rolls that were sure to accompany every special occasion. Her most memorable creations, however, were her homemade soup, the crafting of which she learned from her mother and grandmother. Sharon's family also fondly remember her outstanding turkey dinners. Sharon was exceptionally creative with numerous handicrafts as well; she created many beautiful paper tole pictures before arthritis took manual dexterity from her hands.
Sharon leaves behind her husband David Maxwell, two sons; Michael (Jessica) Maxwell, and Steven (Laurie) Maxwell, two grandchildren, Camilla and Sean Maxwell, her sister Shirley and nephew Dennis Long. Sharon was predeceased by her sister, Carol Jacqueline (Roland) Dufton and her brother-in-law Robert Long, as well as numerous other family members. A private Family Celebration of Sharon’s life will follow at a later date.
