As a school friend of Kathy's we exchanged sleep-overs and I have such wonderful memories of time spent on the Smith family farm with Kathy and with the warm welcome I always received from her mom, Alice, and all her brothers. My warmest wishes and condolences to all of you in the passing of your son and brother Royle. Trudy (Richards) Ayotte

I was privileged to have met my husband's first cousin, Royle, when Gary and I attended Aunt Alice's 100th birthday party in Alberta, Canada in January 2019. He was incredibly warm and welcoming to me and spent a great deal of time with Gary and me that weekend. One fun memory was when we met Royle and his friend at the dollar store where Royle had purchased 100 helium-filled, mylar balloons on long sticks. We filled our rental car with half of the balloons and followed Royle and his friend to the party venue. While following them, we saw that some of the balloons were threatening to escape from the back of the friend's vehicle. What a sight! Thank goodness, we made it without losing any balloons! After the party, we stayed in touch through occasional phone calls at which time we talked about his plans to visit us in Colorado one day. Gary has such wonderful childhood memories of spending time with Royle on Aunt Alice's farm, especially riding a horse and shooting the .22 in the fields. We will miss you, Royle. Rest in peace, dear one.

Royle my friend! I miss you now and I always!! The I met Royle only a few years ago, we became really good friends, shared many meals, laughter, tears, stories and our darkest secrets. We often joked that he was my best man, and I was his best woman. He was not afraid to live, he lived well. His only sorrow was missing and loving his family, on long distance, but he was great full for everything in his life. The Royle I knew was, extremely kind, loving, giving and wise! When he dreamed - he dreamed big, and he went for it all. He encouraged others to do the same! We will miss you my friend!
