Obituary for Raymond Prohl

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond Prohl. Although it was a sudden goodbye, we are comforted to know that the love of his life, Linda, was by his side. Raymond Thomas Prohl was born May 7 1954, in Swallwell, AB, to parents Henry and Aileen. He had 4 brothers (Doug, Norman, Edward, Stan) and 3 sisters (Bernice, Darlene, Pat). Raymond spent his childhood years on the family farm in Sunnyslope. After he graduated from high school, Ray moved to Calgary to study carpentry at SAIT. It was there that he met and fell in love with his sweetheart Linda. On June 5, 1973, they were married, and went on to have 2 boys. Their first son Travis was welcomed on December 16, 1977, followed by Cody, on March 5, 1984. Ray was a hard-working man, dedicated to his family and his career with Fountain Tire, which he had just recently retired from. He enjoyed hunting, team roping and rodeo. When his grandchildren, Maddyn and Lucas, came along they were his pride and joy. A service will be held on March 10 at 1pm, taking place at the Cow Palace in Olds, AB. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Wild Horses of Alberta Society.
