Obituary for Peter Segstro
Peter Segstro, 76, of Olds Alberta, sadly, passed away on March 14, 2021.
Peter was born in Hilversum, Holland, March 10,1945 to Gerrit and Margaretha Segstro. At the age of 5, Peter and his family immigrated to Calgary Alberta, in September 1951. This move would create a huge passion in Peter’s life for travel, which he did as much as possible during his younger years. His favourite destinations would typically be along the West Coast, and especially Solvang, CA, which is rich in our Danish culture. In his early twenties, after coming back to Calgary, Peter started his own business in landscaping. This was when he would meet his then wife Colina and together they would start a family. As Peter became older, his love and passion grew for music, this led him into the retail business of high end stereo systems, where he would create a respectable reputation for himself in the Calgary area. In 2010, Peter moved to Olds so he could be closer to his daughter and grandchildren.
Peter was predeceased by his parents and his great-grandson Jaxson. Peter is survived by his daughter Alissa (Lorne), grandsons Bryce (Selina), Logan, Devin (Kelly) and 3 great-grandchildren Matthew, Derrick and Addison. He is also survived by his sister Wyna, brother Hans (Sandy), sister Nellie (Paul) as well as a large extended family.
As per the wishes of Peter and his family, no service will be held, but a private celebration of life will be held in his honor.
