Obituary for Maisie Cropley (Clemont)

Maisie Cropley passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at the age of 94 years. She was born at Arbutus, Alberta to Calvin and Catherine Clemont on May 27, 1928. She spent her early years in the Arbutus District and as a young adult, she lived, worked and started a family in Rocky Mountain House before moving to Penhold. It was here where she raised her family along side her husband, Nelson ‘Pops” before eventually moving to Innisfail.
Maisie was a talented cook and bread maker, who enjoyed gardening, knitting, reading and crossword puzzles. She taught herself to play the piano and guitar and she liked to sing and dance. She was always in pursuit of a funny story or joke and a good laugh and enjoyed time spent with family. Maisie will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Virginia (Dale), Jackie (Al), Brenda (Mike), Jo-Anne, Belle (Rob), her son, Bob (Corree), ten grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sister, Clara, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Maisie was predeceased by her husband, Nelson, her brother, Fred, her sisters, Adeline, Irene, Florence and Peggy, her grandson, Trevor, her son-in-law, Pat, and her first husband, Joseph Barnes. A Memorial Service will be held at Heartland Funeral Services Chapel on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 1:30 p.m.
