Obituary for Logan John Ferner

FERNER, Logan John
August 9, 2003 – March 22, 2022

It is with great sadness we mourn the passing of Logan John Ferner on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, in
Red Deer, Alberta, at the age of 18 years.

Logan was born in Olds Alberta and was surrounded by many family members who had the pleasure of experiencing his kind heart. Logan had passion and heart in everything he did and wanted to make his family proud. Team sports such as hockey, baseball, soccer, basketball, golf, and football were an important part of Logan’s life. One of the many proud moments in his life was receiving the Player of the Year award in 2014, where he attended a banquet in Edmonton and met Devon White. Logan was just completing his first year at Red Deer Polytechnic in Business Administration and made the Dean’s List for his academic success.

Logan will forever be remembered for his goofy personality, witty humour, and empathetic heart. Logan expressed his love by doing random acts of kindness for others.

Logan will be dearly missed by his mother, Candice Ferner (Chris Hammer); father Ryan Ferner (Lana Foster); sister Brooke Ferner; stepsiblings McKensie (David) Sorestad, Raegan, Blake, and Taurie Hammer; grandparents, Wendy (Robert) Waiting, Rick Smith, Shirley (Paul) Baxter, and Keith Durrant; great- grandmother Hilda Ferner; girlfriend, Valeria Tavira; nephew, Slade; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Logan was predeceased by his great-grandfather John Ferner, great-grandfather Gene Hauck and great-grandmother Val Hauck.
