Obituary for Kevin Alexander Milne

Kevin Alexander Milne was born on Saturday, March 24th 1962 on the family farm east of Didsbury, Alberta, to parents Ronald & Christine Milne. Kevin attended Midway elementary and Olds High School, graduating in 1981. He showed aptitude in mathematics and other subjects in school, and often got away with acts of troublemaking and misconduct because of this. He achieved a provincial record in discus in 1980, and continued to coach track and field after high school. After graduation, Kevin worked as a laborer at the Olds Feed Mill, a furniture restorer in Didsbury and as an oil field tester. Kevin was a self-taught musician, and loved film and reading, appreciating everything from George Orwell to Spice Girls. He was an independent thinker, and natural teacher. He had no biological children, but he was a valued mentor and second father to many. Following his father Ronald’s passing in 2007, Kevin moved back to the family farm to help his brother Gordon. Kevin spent the following fifteen years living there, helping with farm work, fencing and landscaping, teaching his niece guitar, studying the family and community history. He would poke fun at everyone and everything with his clever and equally crude sense of humour. Kevin’s memory is honoured by his six siblings and their partners; James Milne, Darrel Milne, Denise & Ian Anhorn, Karen & Kevin Frayn, Gordon & Donna Milne, Leanne & Michael Johnson; his ten nieces and nephews: Thomi & Kennedy Milne, Lacey & Staci Anhorn, Taylor & Jonathon Frayn, Allison & Robyn Milne, Morgaine Johnson & Emily Johnson; and five grand nieces and nephews: Charlie & James Frayn, Mira & Owen Backstrom, and Natalie Johnson. A memorial will not be held at this time.
