Obituary for John Albert Reilly

John (Jack) Albert Reilly
May 22, 1929 – May 4, 2020

It is with great sadness in our hearts, to announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Jack was a wonderful husband of 65 years to his wife Toni (Antoinette) and will always be remembered as a great dad to his 4 children, Colleen (Ron) Willick, Mark Reilly, Bill Reilly and Christine Messner, 6 grand children and 6 great grandchildren. Born in Montreal, he and Toni raised 4 children. Jack worked as an auditor for Touche Ross and Co. for several years, then getting on with Westburne International Industries, and was transferred to Calgary in 1969. He wore several hats at Westburne including office manager, land man, and as Secretary on the Board of Directors at the time of retiring. Jack, some friends and business associates then bought Adventure Consulting, an oilfield consulting company where he worked till retiring. Jack’s passion was wood working and loved doing home renovations. He also became quite the furniture maker, building many tables, gun cabinets, dressers and saddle stands, to mention a few.
He often coached his sons’ hockey teams, and never ever missed a game of ANY sport. When the grandchildren came along, it continued, travelling all over Alberta to many many horse shows and hockey games.... even badminton in Brooks. Jack always enjoyed a good party with family and friends, and was usually the center of all jokes, pranks and teasing.
Jack loved his family immensely and was always so proud of everyone. He will be very sadly missed by all, and will always remain in our hearts. We are grateful to the wonderful staff of doctors, nurses and caregivers in the Sundre and Red Deer Hospitals, for their kindness and care. For those who so desire, donations can be made to the Sundre Hospital Futures or the Sundre Food Bank.
