On Wednesday, May 6, 2020, Jessie Irene Gwin passed away at the age of 79 in Olds, Alberta. Jessie was born in Hanna, Alberta on April 2, 1941 to George and Alice Gwin.
Jessie was affectionally known as Auntie Rene, but preferred to be called Jessie by most people. She was a courageous and kind woman who faced many obstacles in life with a positive attitude. She loved conversation and spending time with family and friends. In Jessie’s younger years she enjoyed fishing and listening to music played by her dad and going to church and gardening with her mom. She was masterful at embroidery and other crafts. She was outgoing and participated in community events like the Special Olympics. She was above all else, happy and wanted everyone to be happy. She attended the University of Calgary with her friend Roxy and received a Diploma for Clowning so she could have a funny face and make people smile. For most of her life Jessie lived near her sister Dorothy and they always shared a special bond. Jessie spent her golden years in Olds, Alberta and was cared for by her very special friends at ASC. Jessie was preceded in death by her father, mother, sister Dorothy, nephew Frazer and great nephew Kyler. She will be greatly missed by her niece Ivy and her many friends. A private funeral service will be held on Friday, May 15th in Olds, Alberta. Jessie will be laid to rest in Hanna.
