ARCHER, ELIZABETH JANE
Jane Archer of Didsbury, Alberta, passed away on November 17, 2020 at the age of 61. Born on September 10, 1959 in Haliburton, Ontario to parents Ron and Marg Archer. Jane grew up in Severn Bridge Ontario with her parents and siblings Ronda, John, Pat and Cindy. She moved west in the late 70's and lived in various place including Vancouver Island, Fort McMurray, Calgary and Airdrie before settling and residing in Didsbury. Jane was well known, very respected in the community, hard working and very well organized. For 16 years Jane had a career at the Town of Olds in planning and development. She loved her cats, Bella and Sushi and had many hobbies including exploring nature, new places, reading and gardening. She was also very well known for growing her spectacular sunflowers. Jane had a very positive outlook on life, she was always a trusted and loyal friend to many with a tender ear for listening, giving encouragement when needed and always a big hug. She was a people person; one of her greatest gifts was connecting with people of all ages, from all walks of life and a testament to that is her many friends. Jane is survived by her son, Calvin Gillis; daughter Darby Nugent; step-son Steven Gillis; grandchildren Jarrod and Jolene; sisters Ronda Hepinstall, Pat Archer and Cindy (Ken) Brock; numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends. Jane is predeceased by her parents Ronvill and Margaret Archer (1992) brother John Archer (2016) and her grandmother Elizabeth Gagnon (2002). In keeping with Jane’s, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society.
