OBITUARY

James Eldon Freimark
(Dec 22, 1941 – June 3, 2023)

On June 3, 2023, James Eldon Freimark, of Sundre, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the Myron Health Centre in Sundre, at the age of 81, surrounded by his family.
Jim was born on December 22, 1941 to Carl and Viola Freimark (nee Pollard) in Rabbit Lake, Saskatchewan where he grew up.
In 1965 he met the love of his life, Lillian (nee Marks), at a dance in Shady Bay, SK. They were married in Spiritwood, SK in 1968 and began their life together in Maymont, SK. In 1969 they moved to Smiley, SK and their first child Trent was born in Kindersley, SK. In 1971, they moved to Calgary, AB, where they rounded out the family with their daughter Tracy in 1972.
With his curious nature of needing to know how things worked, Jim was able to look at things from a different perspective and come up with a solution to repair or build anything. With this skill and passion, Jim began taking night classes in 1972 to become a mechanic, which kicked off a long 33-year career, until he retired in 2005.
In the spring of 1995 he welcomed his first grandchild Braden. Two years later in 1997 his second grandson Chaise was born, followed by his only granddaughter Ashley in 2000. His grandchildren were the light of his life and he spent as much time as he could with them, taking them camping and going for walks.
In 2006 Jim and Lillian retired and moved to Sundre, AB, where they made numerous friends attending dances and jams in the surrounding area. Jim spent endless hours in his workshop, working on many projects, such as making bird houses and building and repairing a variety of things for his friends and family.
