Mrs. Isabel Jean Beauchamp passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Bethany Collegeside, Red Deer, Alberta at the age of 85 years. Isabel was born in Edmonton, Alberta and moved to Harmattan, Alberta by her adopted parents Emily Cora and Albert Arthur Noakes. When she was old enough, she walked two miles, uphill and downhill, to school in Harmattan and absolutely hated Phys Ed. Isabel’s last year of schooling was in Sundre, Alberta. When she finished school, she moved to Olds, Alberta where she went to work at a bank as a teller. There was only one adding machine there, so tellers had to use their heads. During her last year of school, she met her husband at a school ballgame while eating a green onion. Starting their family they took in boarders and there was always a waiting list to come live with them, as Isabel would make lunches and fully cooked meals, she even did their laundry. Soon they saw a move to Vermillion, Alberta for nine months; then to Biggar, Saskatchewan, where she joined Alfred at work at the Macleod’s Store. Isabel made very special friends there whom she had kept close contact with still. They then transferred to Stettler, Alberta for another journey. Isabel became the manager at Eaton’s order office, where she took great pride working at. When Eaton’s closed the offices, she was off to work for Peter’s Drug Store. As semi retirement was looming, Isabel and Alfred decided to move to Central Alberta. They landed in Innisfail. Isabel took a job at the Co-op Hardware and Family Fashion where she eventually became a Manager. Many people remember her fitting their children for shoes there. She also started the Farmer’s Market in Innisfail. Isabel would get up before 5:00 a.m. to bake her ‘FRESH’ Lemon Meringue pies. Alfred decided to semi-retire and Isabel took a part-time job at her favorite store, The Gift Loft. During their summer retirement months they took their holiday trailer out to Green Acres at Pine Lake, Alberta. In full retirement, Isabel loved spending time with her grandchildren and cooking meals for family get togethers. Christmas was always her favorite time to have the family together. There was always room for extra families to join their family. She would love to bake cookies and always had tins of cookies in the freezer in case someone happened to come by. They moved to Olds for a year and decided to move back to Innisfail to Country Manor as the beginning of Dementia had started. The next three years with Dementia and Covid was very hard on the family and Mom. Isabel was a loving wife of sixty seven years to Alfred William Beauchamp. A mother to Rose Anne, Diane (Donald), Dwayne (Tessie), Joanne and Yvonne (Terry). A grandmother to her cherished grandchildren; Micheal (Jessie), Mark (Monique), Angela, Robert (Janene), Calvin (Janneke), Mylagh (Rick), Blayne (Sarah), Taryn (Dan), Levi, Theresa Michelle, Mike Darryl, Mikaela, Vincent, Brandon (Danica), Emily (Eric), Jaret and Hannah. A great grandmother to her great grandchildren whom she adored; Evie, Emrys, Adalyn, Deagen, Xander, Miles, Claire, Lyla, Kendra, Katelyn, Dominic, Francesca, Aria, Edson, Emrika and Elza. Isabel is also survived by her son and daughter-in-laws, Donald, Shelagh, Lisa and Darwin. Isabel was predeceased by her granddaughter Hayley and granddaughter-in-law, Jamie. The family would like to thank Dr, Miller, Dr. Hrdlicka, Dr. Bromley, Staff at Country Manor, the Hamlets, Sunset Manor, Centennial Centre and Bethany Collegeside that had given her such great care to our Mom. Thanks also to staff and families from the Alliance Church who supported Mom during this journey.
