Obituary for Glenn Herbert Carlson

Glenn was born in Camrose on September 16th, 1954 to John Howard and Eileen Carlson. He was the middle child with an older brother Larry and a younger brother Stanley. The three boys enjoyed life on the family farm playing sports, riding horses, getting into mischief, and of course doing chores. With a large extended family, the three also spent a lot of time with their many cousins. Glenn attended Meeting Creek School until grade eleven, when he transferred to Bashaw School, graduating in 1972. One year earlier, in 1971, while attending a Christian Prairie Bible Institute spring conference, he was saved and became Christian.
After careers in surveying, real estate and construction, he started his own company, Triple C Construction in 1989. By then he married Elizabeth Uhryn and moved to Didsbury, where she was then teaching. They made their home there until his passing. In 1990, they were blessed with their son John Glenn Carlson. Glenn spent many years growing his company, specializing in concrete, roofing and siding, until his retirement in 2017. That same year, he was diagnosed with cancer, which he fought bravely for six years, spending his final weeks in hospice care in Olds.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; his son John (Keely); brothers Larry and Stanley (Brenda); many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.
Glenn was known for being very outgoing and friendly, for his love of sports, for his strong work ethics, and for his generosity.
Glenn used to end many conversations with a Swedish expression, "Tackskaduha".which means "Thank You". He would be so thankful for all those who have expressed condolences at his passing, and for those of you here today. Tackskudaha.

A graveside service will take place at the Meeting Creek Cemetery.
A Celebration of life will take place on June 3, 2023 at Meeting Creek Community Hall at 2:30 p.m.
