Obituary for George Sukkau

George was an incredible soul. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and uncle. He spent the last several decades of his life loving his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as though they were his reason for living. As much as George loved to sit back and enjoy just having everyone around him, he also enjoyed sharing stories of his childhood and his relationship with his father Jacob. Those old farming days back in Saskatchewan were his pride and joy. So many times he would tell us how he hooked up the teams of horses for a long day in the fields, hand raked the stooks, and finished a day of hard work with an amazing meal prepared by his mother. His love for horses shone through his dedication and special relationships with each one he had through his lifetime. He lived a good life, and always made sure everyone around him knew it. Above all, he was always very proud to be a child of God. His faith was fierce and he was very willing to share all his love for the Holy Spirit to all that would give him the time. George also had an infinite and endless love for his wife, Kay. They were married in 1956 and spent life together for the next 64 years, rarely spending time apart. He enjoyed family gatherings, long road trips, anything horses, a good burger, hard ice cream cones, and Tim Horton's. In his last few years he’d spend time just driving around, watching the local farmers plant, cultivate and harvest. He always wished he was on the fields with them. Passing in his sleep at home is exactly how he wanted to leave this life on earth. George will be missed greatly by his entire family and all who knew him. We are 4 generations that were blessed to have him in our lives, and we know he is now watching down on us as we continue his legacy.

“Its time to go for a big do!”

You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You. ~ Isaiah 26:3
