Gene was born in Regina, SK to Pat and Ruth Talbott. He grew up in Ogema where he met the love of his life, Maureen McKague. They were married and 5 children. Gene was a grain buyer for Saskatchewan Wheat Pool and moved around numerous times through southern Saskatchewan. Gene enjoyed working on old vehicles, fishing, and every visiting moment with his grandchildren. During the last few years of his life he moved to Olds, AB to be closer to his sons. Gene was loved by everyone that knew him and he will be dearly missed. Gene is survived by his daughters Bonnie Bell (Don Waddell) of Weyburn, SK, Kathy Talbott (Brent Counsell) of Abernethy, SK and Sonya Geiger of Olds, AB; sons Jeff (Julie) Talbott of Olds, Alberta and Jason (Tracy) Talbott of Calgary, Alberta; grandchildren Brittney Bell, Adam Johnson, Samantha (James) Wharton, Richard Geiger, Tyler Geiger, Nicole Talbott, Brandon Talbott, Shianne Talbott and Kyla Talbott; 7 great-grandchildren; step-mother Lorne Talbott of Weyburn, SK; and several nieces and nephews. Gene is predeceased by his loving wife Maureen Talbott, parents Pat and Ruth Talbott, father and mother in-law Elwood and Ruth McKague, his brother Larry Talbott, sister Debbie Carswell, sister-in-law Marilyn Ross and brother and sister-in-law Donald and Judy McKague. There will be a Celebration of Gene’s Life at a later date. Memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Lung Association.
