Obituary for Erma Elizabeth Slauenwhite (Brooks)

Mrs. Erma Elizabeth Slauenwhite of Penhold, Alberta passed away at the Innisfail Health Centre, Innisfail, Alberta on Monday, April 4, 2022 at the age of 80 years. Erma was born at Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of the late Emmerson and Geraldine (nee Ward) Brooks. Erma was a beloved wife, mother, sister and daughter. She was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her children. Erma and her husband, George have always shared a love of music, often singing along and stamping their feet to a music video or breaking out into song in the kitchen along with a jig. She also loved to create, a passion shared with her daughter, Diane; together they created some beautiful pieces. Erma taught her daughter, Brenda how to bake and cook, while having long conversations and lots of giggles. Gardening was also a joy in her life and her son, Ron always came early spring to prepare soil for planting. Those who knew her, knew she was true of heart and could be depended upon for anything. She was stronger for others than she was for herself. Her absence in this world will be a loss felt forever. Erma will be lovingly remembered by her husband, George Slauenwhite, her son, Ron (Randa) of Condor, Alberta, her daughters, Diane (Bert) of Port McNeill, British Columbia and Brenda (Mike) of Penhold, Alberta, her three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She will also be deeply missed by her brothers, Wayne Brooks, Lewis Brooks and Donnie Brooks, and her sisters, Gladys Murphy and Frances Lynch. Erma was predeceased by her parents, Emmerson and Geraldine Brooks, her brothers, Bob, Howard, Bernie and Raymond as well as a sister in infancy, Geraldine.
