Dear Fran, Terry and Dave,
Brian and I are so sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. I will always treasure the good times and wonderful memories of our visits to the farm. We had so much fun playing music with your dad. It gave him such incredible joy to play the trumpet and play in the band. I know he enjoyed singing in the choir and even though his hearing was failing, he delighted in how all the harmonies came together to make beautiful music. He was a very talented musician and obviously passed that gift on to his children. Every time I hear a trumpet play in a band, especially jazz, I think of your dad and the absolute pleasure it gave him. The Colbo’s always looked forward to our visits to the farm and loved that you had the piano, organ and guitars to play with. I look back at those good times and realize what close friends our dads were and what a special time that was in our lives. It saddens us to know he’s no longer with us and that dad has lost a life-long friend. We will miss him dearly, but will always treasure the good memories we had! He will forever be in our hearts.
Sincere condolences,
Shelly & Brian Markiwsky
