Obituary for Dale Allen Machan

Dale Allen Machan was born June 2, 1956 in Listowel, Ontario and grew up in Mitchell, Ontario. He spent some time in Hay River, NWT and Grande Prairie then moved to Olds where he called home for the last 29 years. He partnered up with Bob & Mary Hays and together they built a successful business entitled Hay City Projects. Dale had a close circle of friends and referred to them as “family”. He had a love for life and was an avid golfer. Dale really enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and especially taking his annual holiday. He passed away at his home on November 13, 2019 after a lengthy illness with his wife Tina and brother Dean by his side. Dale is survived by his loving and devoted wife Tina; stepson Travis (Jessie) Hipkiss of Kelowna, BC; mother Marilyn of Sarnia, ON; brothers Dean (Bridget) of Mitchell, ON; David (Louise) of Seaforth, ON; sister Debra (Dana) of New Market, ON; his fathers wife Carolyn of Vernon, BC; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends. He was predeceased by his father Doug of Vernon, BC. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #105, Olds. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation or the Alberta Kidney Foundation.
