Obituary for Courtney Bernhardt Brown

Our hearts are filled with great sadness to share the passing of Courtney Bernhardt Brown of Caroline, Alberta on Friday, August 4, 2023, at the age of 43. Courtney was born in Innisfail, Alberta on January 28, 1980. He was raised on the family farm east of Caroline, along with his sister and three brothers. Courtney attended school in Caroline and furthered his education at Red Deer College achieving his Red Seal in welding. Contracting out his own welding truck he spent many years working on pipelines. In more recent years, he farmed with his dad and worked as a plant operator. “Cheeko” worked hard and played hard enjoying the outdoors, hunting, fishing, hiking and getting his truck muddy. He loved spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed. Courtney is lovingly remembered by his siblings Jason (Jailene) Brown of Gull Lake, Alberta, Amber (Clayton Lischewski) Coleman of Devon, Alberta, Jeff (Lee-Ann) Brown and Alun Brown. He will also be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews Brady, Sydney and Megan Coleman; Linly Brown; James, Carly and Austin Landry, his Dad’s wife, Valerie Brown of Caroline, his former spouse Amanda Brown of Blackfalds, Alberta, his brother-in-law Jon Coleman of Devon, his uncle Stewart Brown of Kevisville, Alberta, his uncle Randy Onciul of Innisfail, Alberta as well as numerous aunts, cousins and friends. Courtney is predeceased by his dad, Bernhardt Brown, brother Steven, uncle Dennis Brown, maternal and paternal grandparents, and his great uncle, Harold Brown. A Celebration of Life for Courtney and Bernhardt Brown will be held at the Kurt Browning Arena, in Caroline, Alberta on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. A private interment will be held at the Kevisville Cemetery.
