Cindy Smith of Penhold, Alberta passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Red Deer Hospice on April 13, 2024 at the age of 56 years. Cindy was born in Calgary, however, being a base kid, she lived in various places in Canada. She pursued her love of animals at Lakeland College before working at Medicine River Wildlife Center, where she worked prior to settling in central Alberta to start a family.
Cindy had many hobbies including gardening, reading and going for walks in nature. Her absolute favorite though was spending time with her family. Whether she was working with her brother, or game nights with her kids and the nieces and nephews. She enjoyed telling stories of her childhood growing up with all her cousins, aunts and uncles, this always put a smile on her face. Cindy treated everyone she met like family and left a lasting impression on them. Cindy will be lovingly remembered by her son Keagan Smith of Penhold, Alberta, her daughter, Kayli Smith of Penhold, Alberta, her brother Tylor Young of Red Deer, Alberta and her sister, Debbie Corcoran of Dewberry, Alberta as well as numerous relatives. Cindy was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Betsie Young and her brother, Bruce.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on May 11, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations may be made to the Red Deer Hospice Society 99 Arnot Ave
