Obituary for Christina Forbes-Warnke

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Christina Forbes-Warnke on
Sunday, December 11th, 2022 at the age of 93 years. Christina was born in 1929 to Norman &
Alexandrina Forbes in Edmonton; AB. Chris married Albert Warnke in 1946 and lived in
Wetaskiwin until 1964. During that time the couple had 5 children, Wayne, Alexander, Kenneth,
Barbara & Deborah. Chris & her 4 children moved to Calgary in 1964 where she was a strong
single mother who did everything she could to keep her family together. She resided in Calgary
until 2014, when she moved to Mountain View Senior’s Lodge in Olds, AB and then in 2016 she
moved to live in the Mountain View Senior’s Lodge in Sundre, AB.

Chris loved to read, sing and most of all God; always keeping her faith which got her through
many difficult times. She made friends easily, loved to laugh, was known for her integrity,
loyalty & commitment to whatever she set her mind to.

Christina is survived by her loving children and family; Wayne (Elaine) Warnke of Strathmore,
Ken (Madeleine) Warnke of Sundre, Barb Argue of Edmonton, Deb Billings of Sundre and Sister
in-law Alice McKay (nee Warnke). The proud grandmother of Jordan (Ashley), Marty (Kat), Holly
(Travis), Christopher, Crystal (Kevin), David (Natalie), Mike (Yvonne), Matt (Marie) and Alyssa +1
(Logan). She was also a happy great grandmother to Gabby, Josie, Hunter, Ethan, Emily, Max,
Makala, Patrick, Maverick, Liam. Also many loved Nieces and Nephews.

Christina was predeceased by her parents Norman & Alexandrina Forbes, Gottlieb & Wilhemina
Warnke and her brothers and sisters, Georgina Scharff, Alexander Forbes, Barbara Grant, Hugh
Forbes, Annie Forbes, Margaret Nolan, Marion Pasquin, Alfred Forbes, Agnes Scholze, Normina
Kenney, her infant son Alexander and son-in-law Bradley Billings.

A special thank you to the Staff of Mountain View senior’s lodge for their dedication to
Christina’s happy and rich life over the past 6 years. Her caregivers in Sundre’s SL4D were part
of her family, they sincerely loved and cared for Christina.

A private burial will be held at the Burnsland Cemetery in Calgary where she will lay with her
beloved sister Anne.
