Obituary for Cheryl Janice Jellicoe

Cheryl Janice Jellicoe (nee Freeman) passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the age of 77 years, with her husband, Terry of fifty-five years, by her side.
Cheryl grew up in Kinistino, Saskatchewan and enjoyed many activities; baseball being her favourite, and curling coming second. She met Terry in High School and eventually the two were married. Cheryl went to the Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to become a Registered Nursing Assistant. She worked at hospitals in towns where Peavy Mart’s were located, as Terry was transferred about many of their locations. They ended up in Innisfail, Alberta when Terry was promoted to a Head Office position in Red Deer, Alberta.
In the early years of living in Innisfail, Cheryl was active with the Innisfail Figure Skating Club while their girls were skating and was a popular chaperone on band trips. Later, she enjoyed meeting her coffee crew on weekday mornings, going out with the Birthday Club for lunches and dinners, and gathering with their numerous friends for any reason. Cheryl was happy to host people at their cabin in Sylvan Lake, Alberta and loved being at the family cabin in Candle Lake, Saskatchewan. Cheryl and Terry liked travelling; going on family ski trips with the Romaines, partaking in a few cruises, a road trip to the Maritimes, a bus tour through Great Britain, seeing Switzerland, and spending the winter in Hawaii and Arizona. While in Arizona, Cheryl enjoyed attending baseball training camp games, playing cards with anyone who was visiting, and watching the golfers go by the house. In Hawaii, she enjoyed sitting and watching the ocean, looking for whales and visiting with whoever she could talk to in the smoking area, when she still smoked! Then it was off to the poolside bar to visit some more with their favourite bartender, Keith. If anyone needed to find her, you could listen for her distinctive laugh.
Cheryl will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Terry Jellicoe, her two daughters, Janice Jellicoe and Tanya Jellicoe (Bruce), and her grandchildren, Victoria, Anna, and Corbin. She will also be greatly missed by her nieces and nephew, along with their families; Lynette Jones (Troy); children, Emma (David) and their child, Poppy, and expecting another; Shanna (Karsten) and their child, Knox; and Cole Jones of Kinistino, Saskatchewan; Chantel Brezinski (Darren); Shane, Brendan, and Caden of Porcupine Plain, Saskatchewan; Kimberley Braithwaite (Colin); Priya and India of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Ian Smith (Annemieke); Bennett, June, and expecting another, of St. Albert, Alberta. As well as her sister-in-law, Gayle Smith (Howard) of St. Albert, Alberta, and her close cousins and many friends.
Cheryl was predeceased by her parents, George and Wanda Freeman, her sisters, Carolyn Freeman and Brenda Weaver, her brother-in-law, George Weaver, her sister-in-law, Vicki Jellicoe, and her parents-in-law, Irene and Ronald Jellicoe.
