It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Barry Jackson on November 21, 2021 at the age 58 years. Barry was born and raised in Innisfail where he worked odd jobs and could be seen around the community neighbourhoods mowing lawns or shoveling snow. Barry lived a solitary life, but those that knew him well understood his accepting worldviews and were humbled by his big heart and his soft spot for animals. In his younger years, Barry became fiercely committed to working out and strengthening his body through weightlifting. He of course, also always loved his sweets. Barry continued to be committed to his daily exercise regime up until his passing in November, 2021. He cherished the company of a cat or two over the years, had a love for WWF wrestling in the eighties and nineties, he was a loyal CFL fan and enjoyed listening to classic country music. Barry had a dream to visit the Country Music Capital of the World at Nashville, Tennessee, where he could listen to live music, see Graceland and visit the Grand Ole Opry. In 2017, this trip was made a reality. Barry created some of the best lifelong memories there and explored the Nashville area with his big brother, Carl and his wife, Gerry. Barry will be lovingly remembered by his brothers, Rick (Marjorie) and Gary (Marguerite), his sisters, Wanda Guske and Ethel DeWitt, his sister-in-law, Gerry Jackson, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Ada and Richard, his brothers, Ralph and Carl, his sister, Laura, and his brother-in-law, LaVern DeWitt. A small Memorial Service will be held at the Heartland Funeral Services Chapel at Innisfail, Alberta on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Anyone who would like to pay their respects to Barry are invited to attend.
