Obituary for Alan Manship

Mr. Alan Walter Manship passed away at the Red Deer Hospice, Red Deer, Alberta on Monday, October 16, 2023 at the age of 87 years. Alan was an active member of the Spruce View community where he resided. He was dedicated to the King of Kings Lutheran Church in Dickson, Alberta and a member of the Spruce View Lions Club. Alan was a devoted father, husband, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved visits from family and friends, and he loved to travel. Alan enjoyed sports especially hockey, Canadian football and baseball. He is lovingly remembered by his partner of four years, Anne Lise Pedersen, Buster the dog, his daughters, Sandy (Calvin) Haugen and Alanna Manship, his son, Timothy Manship, his stepdaughters, Sharon (Bruce) Marshall, Kathy (Morgen) Berg and Donna (Doug) Tubb and his stepson, Byron (Judy) Olson. Alan will also be deeply missed by his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, his sister, Lillian (Edward) Neale and so many friends. He is predeceased by his wife, Marlene Manship, his parents, Walter and Maria Manship, and his brothers, Robert and Alfred Manship. The family would like to send a special thank you to the Doctors and staff of the Innisfail Health Centre and Red Deer Hospice Society for the care given to Alan. A Memorial Service will be held at the King of Kings Lutheran Church, 1912 Second Avenue, Dickson, Alberta on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will be held at the Spruce View Community Hall, 2127, AB-54, Spruce View, Alberta, following the Memorial Service.
