Obituary for Agnes Lillian Peterman

Agnes Lillian Peterman (nee Fonstad) passed away peacefully at the Olds Hospital on September 24, 2014 at the age of 86 years. She was born on a farm near Torquay, Saskatchewan on August 16, 1928. Agnes married Lyle Peterman in 1947 and they continued to farm and raise their 3 eldest children. In 1958, they moved to Olds as Lyle was offered a position with an oil company as a battery operator. Two more children were born to complete their family. Agnes was always involved in music. She taught organ lessons for years and until recently was the organist at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Olds. Agnes will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband Lyle; children Judy (Joel) Thompson of Olds; Lowell (Nancy) Peterman of Red Deer; Kathy (Kevin) Rowland of Olds and Terry (Sandy) Peterman of Olds; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Simon & Olga Fonstad; brothers Selmer and Martin Fonstad; sisters Jean Swenson, Carol Mossing, Kay Miller; daughter Gwen McLeod. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday September 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Olds with Pastor John Lentz officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Olds & District Hospice Society.
