Obituary

Helen Dyck (nee Hildebrand) was the fifth child of Heinrich Hildebrand and Helena (Peters) and grew up in the Gouldtown, Saskatchewan area. As a young girl she attended the River Dell school and was a huge help on her mom and dad’s farm. Following secondary school, she earned her teaching certificate and taught in various schools in Saskatchewan and Alberta. Following the loss of her husband in 2009, she moved from Torrington, Alberta to the Kiwanis Manor in Olds, Alberta. In November of 2016, she made the move to the Mountain View Lodge just across the way from the Manor. In every place Helen lived, she was socially active and was a delight to her friends. Helen is survived by her children, Lee-Anne Groves (Morris), Richard Dyck (Suzanne) and Earl Dyck (Marianne), her grandchildren Carley Comrie, Cristy Reed, Julie Andersen (Cody), Joel Dyck (Debby), Bryan Dyck, Nathan Dyck (Sarah), Josiah Dyck, Matthew Dyck, Janessa Teichroeb (Donavon), Jason Dyck and 7 great-grandchildren.Helen is predeceased by her husband, Diedrich Dyck (Dick), her sister, Gertrude Harder, her brothers, Henry Hildebrand, Jake Hildebrand and Isaac Hildebrand, her brother-in-law Isbrandt Harder, and her sisters-in-law, Lydia Hildebrand, Vera Hildebrand, and Mona Hildebrand.
Helen’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude for all the thoughtful expressions of love and kindness by relatives and friends during their time of loss and bereavement.

"Because someone we love is in heaven, there is a little bit of heaven in our hearts". It will feel a little more lonely here on earth, but the reunion will be in heaven. I will miss your Mom very much, our conversations always ended with "I love you". She was a very special Auntie. She was so proud of her family, grandchildren & great grandchildren. Our prayers & condolences to LeAnne, Rick, Earl & families. May you find comfort in the assurance of her faith.
